(5/22) Delta Air Lines has signed a corporatewide settlement agreement with OSHA to protect workers who operate baggage-handling vehicles. The agreement covers approximately 90 of the carrier?s airport sites that fall under OSHA, as well as 1,600 Delta employees and 6,000 baggage-handling vehicles.
(5/21) Some 75 special Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) investigators recently participated in training that included instruction by FBI?s Evidence Response Unit. The 2-week course at the National Mine Health and Safety Academy in West Virginia covered topics like interview techniques, evaluating evidence, reviewing violations, and processing discrimination complaints.
(5/18) A new OSHA directive guides agency representatives in communicating with family members about investigations following a workplace fatality. OSHA personnel are instructed to speak to relatives early in the process, establish a point of contact, and maintain a working relationship with the family.
